Robert G. Moore served as Sangamon County Circuit Clerk for 8 years.  He was an active Republican and a lifelong resident of Springfield, Illinois.  Moore graduated high school from Springfield High in 1901. He died at age 58 due to a heart attack on April 22, 1940.  He is interred at Oak Ridge Cemetery Springfield, Illinois. Out of respect, the Circuit Clerk’s Office closed during the funeral services for Moore.
