Instruction sheet for persons under the age of 21
receiving Court Supervision for a moving violation,
a seat belt violation or who have a graduated license.
			Illinois law requires a motorist under the age of 21 to complete a traffic safety program in order to qualify for court supervision for a moving violation or if the motorist has a graduated license. |

			The Sangamon County Circuit Court procedure regarding the imposition of court supervision for a motorist under the age of 21 is as follows: | 
		
			1. | 
			
			Your plea for supervision will be entered along with any applicable fines and cost. | 
		|

			 | 
			
			 | 
		|
			2. | 
			
			You will be given a due date by which you must complete your traffic safety program.  Information about participation in the program, either in person or via internet, is available at:
			 | 
		|
			3. | 
			
			Complete your traffic safety program and receive a certificate of completion. You are responsible for any costs associated the the traffic safety program. | 
		|

			 | 
			
			 | 
		|
			4. | 
			
			You have three choices of providing proof of attendance.1. You can mail the signed certificate to:                                    Sangamon County Circuit Clerk

  | 
			
			Include your name and case number. Your certificate must be received at least 5 working days prior to the due date. | 
		|
|

			 | 
		|
| 
			 5.  | 
			
			Failure to complete your traffic safety program (or to pay the applicable fines and costs) by the due date will result in the revocation of supervision and the entry of a conviction without further notice. | 
		|

All fees collected by the Circuit Clerk are mandated by law.
